Amazing views, nature, culture and food!
During my recent trip to Northern Albania, I had the opportunity to explore some of the region's most breathtaking destinations. One of the highlights of my journey was visiting the remote mountain village of Theth. Surrounded by majestic peaks and pristine forests, Theth offers visitors an unparalleled natural beauty. I hiked to the famous Blue Eye, a natural spring with crystal clear waters that reflected the surrounding mountains in a mesmerizing way. I also visited the historic Kulla e Ngujimit, a centuries-old tower that once served as a defense against marauding bandits. In Shkodra, I was fascinated by the city's rich history and cultural heritage. I visited the Rozafa Castle, which offers panoramic views of the city and the surrounding mountains. I also explored the Marubi National Museum of Photography, where I discovered the fascinating history of Albanian photography. The vibrant local bazaar was another highlight of my trip, where I sampled delicious local delicacies and interacted with friendly vendors. Throughout my journey, I was struck by the warmth and hospitality of the local people. I stayed in family-run guesthouses, where I was treated to delicious home-cooked meals and learned about the customs and traditions of the region. I also visited local businesses, including craft shops and artisanal cheese producers, where I was impressed by the quality of the products and the dedication of the entrepreneurs. Discovering the Unspoiled Beauty of Northern Albania.
As I sat in the car heading back to Tirana, I couldn't help but reflect on the incredible experience I had just had in Tropoja. I had always been a traveler at heart, but this trip had been something truly special. The rugged landscapes of the Albanian Alps had left me breathless, with each new twist and turn of the road revealing a more stunning vista than the last. And the locals - warm, welcoming, and eager to share their traditional way of life with me - had made me feel like part of the community from the moment I arrived. From hiking to hidden waterfalls to exploring the ancient fortress of Koman, every moment had been a new adventure. And despite my initial reservations about visiting such a remote and unfamiliar destination, I now felt a sense of gratitude for having taken the leap. As I pulled out my phone to leave a glowing review of my Tropoja trip, I knew that this was a place that would stay with me forever. And even though I was leaving, a small part of me would always remain in those rugged, unspoiled landscapes of Northern Albania.
